Our show wagons are custom constructed following the original authentic designs. We cut no corners in the crafting of our quality Hitchwagons. Our wagons are built to last using mortise and tenon joinery on the frame and chamfering of the body members. We pay careful attention to the details - from the reproduction of the 19th Century style hardware to the hand-painted pinstriping. The running gear is guaranteed to work smoothly and the wood-hub wheels are crafted from quality hardwood stock to give you all the quality and the reliability you expect from a top-of-the-line hitchwagon. Hitchwagons are one of the most carefully designed and practical, yet beautiful, wagons ever built. The spring system, fifth-wheel assemble, and cut-under front wheels, facilitate tight turns and give this wagon a flexibility ideally suited to the driving conditions of the horse-drawn era. Hitchwagons, sometimes called express or show wagons, were widely used for light trucking. Companies took great pride in the Hitchwagons with their business mane painted on it, and in the magnificent team of horses which traditionally pulled it. Show wagons pulled by exhibiton teams showed up in parades and exhibitions to advertise companies and their products. Today, an astounding number of groups continue this tradition.
